It was a little over a year ago when I first discovered subscription boxes. I saw an ad on Facebook for Barkbox and starting googling subscription boxes when I quickly ran across the My Subscription Addiction blog. I read every one of her posts and my sub box addiction began! Liz’s blog is still one I go to for subscription box news and unboxings, so when she created her own sub box with quarterly I knew I wanted to try it. I missed the first box but saw that it was great, so I jumped right on the second box when subscriptions opened up.
If you haven’t heard of quarterly box, they release a lot of celebrity and blogger curated quarterly boxes – I think Nina Garcia’s may be the most famous. I typically don’t subscribe as they run $50 -$100 a box and that is much higher than I like to spend. I had a coupon for this one so it was $40.
Let’s see what I got!
Product Card – so there isn’t so much a product card as a 7 page letter from Liz! I love this as it gives a personal touch and the feeling that she really put a lot of thought into what was put in this box.
Fairbault Woolen Mill Co. Recycled Wool Throw in Red Whip Stiching. Value $65. This is a great American brand and this throw is made from 65% recycled wool and 35% acrylic. This is a huge throw and that’s what I like as I always buy oversized throws. This is a little rougher than I’d like but it says that it will soften a little every time you wash it , so I’m gonna wash it a few times before I use it.
Nice and big!
For some reason as soon as Lucy saw this she thought it had to die! Luckily it’s a nice hardy material so no damage was done!
Fuzzy Slipper Socks from http://www.foottraffic.com. Value $9.99. I love fuzzy socks for the winter. These are even better as they are from a local KC company that is close to where I live in Kansas. I really like these socks as they are soft and have nice grippies on the bottom. My one gripe as they seem to lose a lot of fuzz but I think if I wash them that will help. I got the black color but purple and pink were also available.
Next Issue App Exclusive Offer. Value $14.99. Free one month of a subscription to this app that has 140 digital magazines each month. Very nice and you can cancel any time. You can also get 50% off an additional 2 months through this offer. I only included the value of the first free month in my value. I think this is a great inclusion, and I’ll get to catch up on a few magazines!
Bauble Bar Ice Circle Pendant. Value $32. I love this necklace! Dainty jewelry like this is always what I gravitate to. I don’t have anything quite like this one. This is a 14K gold disc embellished with micro pave crystals. I also like that this has a 2 inch extender so it can be worn at different lengths. I have a small neck so like to wear it quite short and didn’t use the extender. I also saw on Instagram someone wear this as a bracelet which was quite pretty!
Au Naturale Creme Eye Shadows. Value $40. These Creme eyeshadows are organic, non-toxic, gluten free, paraben free, vegan, non-nano, and made in the USA. We got two different colors. The first is White Quartz which is gorgeous white shadow which can be used as a highlighter. The second color is made exclusively for this box! Addiction is a gorgeous antique gold shade! I honestly am not much for Creme shadows and didn’t think I’d like them when I saw these as spoilers. However in person they are very nice and I think I’m going to give them a try!
Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Intense Hydration Night Cream. Value $13. I’ve tried a lot of Yes To products before and am really impressed with the quality and effectiveness. This is fragrance free. I tried the Yes To Carrots hand cream and it was great! If I wasn’t drowning in night cream from other boxes I would use this. But I think since I have so much stuff I will sell this one.
There were also several coupon codes for the products included. I calculate a value of $173.99 for this box!! For the $40 I paid, I am very impressed with this. I love the variety of products and think this has some very nice quality items. I can’t wait to see what I get next quarter!
