The 3B Box April 2015 Unboxing

The 3B Box is a subscription box that sends deluxe samples of the most popular Asian beauty products.  So it’s basically an Asian Beauty Birchbox!  The box costs $12 a month. I was pretty happy with my last box and was excited to get my April one.  Let’s see what I got.

Product Card

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner & Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel. Benton is a very popular Korean brand so I understand putting some of their products in this bag. I don’t use Benton products due to concerns over past contamination issues. Benton uses very few or no preservatives which is great. However when you think about the long journey these products take from Korea and the elements they are exposed to, the lack of preservatives are a bit concerning. I love natural products but I’m not interested in putting mold on my face. I decided to check out the toner and I did find some teeny black things in it. I’m not sure if that was normal or not (I am no expert and did no testing beyond a visual check). However it made me uncomfortable so I got rid of both products.

Tonymoly Intense Care Snail Foam Cleanser. I like Tonymoly and I like snail products so was thrilled to see this in here. Unfortunately I read a couple reviews and this has a very high PH 9-9.5. I am being very careful with my cleansers lately and making sure cleanser have a lower PH, no more than 6, so I won’t use this. I am glad that I found out before I opened this so I can keep it sealed and give it to someone who is fine with a higher PH product. To be honest a lot of foaming cleansers have a super high PH like this one has and it’s tough to find lower PH ones.

Skinfood Silicon Cleansing Pad. I’m really glad to see a tool in this bag!  I haven’t tried this out yet but you use is with cleanser to massage your skin. I think this looks great and I can use this on days I don’t use my Clarisonic (I have found that everyday is a bit too much for my face).

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Bija. I really like most Innisfree products and their It’s Real masks and Bija line work well with my skin. I will save this for when my skin is acting up as Bija targets troubled skin. I love sheet masks so would be happy if The 3B box would include them every time!

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this but it is certainly worth at least the $12 I paid for it. Although I am disappointed that I will only use 2 out of the 5 products in here I still think this is a really nice bag. The curation is solid and I can’t wait to see what I get next month!  If you want to signup for The 3B box you should head over and get on the wait list as it can take months to get off!  Right now they only ship to the U.S. but I hope the open up international shipping soon!
