Mask Genie August Pouch Unboxing

OMG my presumed lost August Mask Genie showed up in my mail this week!  Honestly I thought this pouch was a goner and it definitely looked like it had been on quite the journey from the state of the envelope. Fortunately all the contents were fine and I’m thrilled it made it!  Genie had stated that a Hong Kong mail issued has caused them to be insufficiently posted and they had to come the slow way. The really slow way!  But no worries since my pouch is here now:)  I almost skipped this review since it’s so late but I refer back to my blog and like it to be a record of my purchases so I’m going to do it anyhow!

Mask Genie is a company based in Hong Kong that sends masks from all over Asia.  I know of Genie from her blog Genie’s Favorite Products and respect that she will send quality masks that she would use herself.  They offer a 5 mask pouch for $12 and a 10 mask pouch for $22.  This price includes shipping and all fees.  I’ve been a subscriber since Mask Genie’s first pouch and if you are an Asian beauty mask fan I promise you if you subscribe you will never be disappointed!  Let’s see what I got!

First Look

Hayan Snail Extreme Moisturizer Mask Sheet. Korea. I love snail products so yay for this mask. Genie said this was a paper mask that had a ton of essence on it.  The package did get really wrinkled but there are no holes in it so should be fine.

Kuan Yuan Lian Luffa Moisturizing Mask. Taiwan. This mask contains luffa which is quite a popular ingredient in Taiwanese brand skincare. I like luffa as I find it quite moisturizing so will definitely try this one.

Annie’s Way Charcoal Black Jelly Mask. Taiwan. I don’t think I’ve used Annie’s Way products before but I’ve definitely seen them around and know they are quite popular. There were many versions of this mask available and I think the charcoal is really interesting.  This mask is supposed to be good for removing blackheads. Genie gave a tip to remove this before it completely dries so it doesn’t hurt to remove it

Rainbow Animal Cute Mask Pack. Korea. So I actually have in my possession several mayu or horse oil masks but I haven’t used them yet. I’m just not sure how I feel about using masks with horse oil in them. I think it’s really just a cultural thing as horse oil is fairly popular in Asian beauty.  This is also looks like an animal mask which creeps me out so I haven’t decided if I want to use this yet.

Shara Shara Black Charcoal Mask. Purifying. Korea. Thanks to Memebox I’ve used lots of Shara Shara products.  Their skincare is quite good but the makeup not so much.  I am glad to see this in the pouch this month.

Elizavecca Silky Cream Donkey Steam Cream. Korea. I’m familiar with Elizavecca products from Memebox but I haven’t tried any sheet masks. As my skin dries out for the winter I will want a lot more moisturizing masks so I think this will be perfect.

Pure mind Moisture Collagen Essence Mask. Korea. This looks like a pretty basic sheet mask. I’ll use it!

Medicos Snail Fresh Mask. Korea. I’m excited to try this mask as Genie gave it a really good review. She said it worked well on her acne so I may wait to use it until I have my next breakout.

Nature Republic Apple Mango. Korea. I like Nature Republic products and their masks are nice cheap masks. I hope that this smell like apple mango!

Kanebo Susai Beauty Clear Powder. Japan. So this little guy is a one time use gentle peeling powder. I am typically not a huge fan of powders because they can be messy and honestly I’m not very careful and tend to spill them. I will give this one a try though. Genie said it is a silky foam when mixed with water and should be rinsed off.

Well I am really happy that my August pouch made it to me as I think it is nicely curated. And now my October pouch should be here soon too – very exciting!
