Birchbox was the gateway to my subscription box addiction! It has introduced me to lots of great products and a few that now have holy grail status for me. This time the featured box was an on trend Korean beauty box, so I picked it. Now I’ve been into Korean and Asian beauty for a while now, but the last few months it has exploded into the U.S. market and Birchbox is no exception. This box is a great introduction to Kbeauty and was curated by Charlotte Cho co-founder of Soko Glam who recently published a book on Kbeauty. Let’s see what I got!
RE:P Bio Fresh Mask with Real Calming Herb. Value $9.11. I don’t recognize the RE:P brand but this is made by Neogen Labs which is a Kbeauty company I am familiar with. It’s got a bit of alcohol in it and also hydrogenated vegetable oil which I’m not sure about using on my face! It does have some good herbs in it so I may give it a test.
IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer. Value $5.60. I’ve used IPKN BB cream before but never a primer. I wear a face primer daily so I’ll definitely give this one a try.
Tony Moly Delight Tony Tint. Value $2. I have to laugh at this not because it’s not a nice tint, it is, but I’ve received this so many times from Korean beauty subs and Memebox. It’s a nice starter lip tint but I just don’t need any more of it. Haha.
Manefit Beauty Planner Cucumber Soothing + Moisturizing Mask. Value $2. I don’t recognize this brand but there is no question that a sheet mask is a must have in any Korean beauty box. Sheet masks are a nice easy thing to start with when getting into Kbeauty. I like cucumber too so I’ll give this a try and review it in one of my weekly mask posts.
Goodal Waterest First Essence. Value $3. I’ve used several Goodal products but have never tried this first essence. Honestly I’m not much for a first essence as I typically go right to the toner and a “normal” essence but I’ll give this a try. It contains hyaluronic acid and fermented lotus flowers.
Goodal Yerba Mate Bubble Peeling & Cleansing Foam. We also got these foil extras. I typically don’t use foils as I just have some many other products to use but I do like to give them away when I sell stuff.
I calculate a value of $21.71 for this box and I paid $9.17. While none of these products were particularly new to me, I still think this is a nicely curated box for someone new to Kbeauty or looking to try some new things.
