Ipsy Glam Bag August Unboxing

If you are not familiar with Ipsy Glam Bag it’s a monthly bag of deluxe sample and full size beauty items. The company was started by makeup guru Michelle Phan. One of the big benefits of Ipsy is it’s cheap only $10 a month. Let’s see what I got!
First Look

Bag  there were three different bag options this month. I love the one I got!

Pacifica Coconut Blush Duo. Value $10. I love that this is such a big product and these are great colors!  I really like the Pacifica brand and I wear blush daily so will definitely try this out.

theBalm Shadow in Kuwakaribisha. Value $3. I used this Shadow the other day as an inner crease shadow and the peach gold color is great!  theBalm shadows are really nice and last a fairly long time.

Sundays Nail Polish in No. 7. Value $18.  This is a pretty beige rose color that I don’t really have. I really loved the other color available which was a lavender but I have tons of similar colors to that so I’m glad to have a color a bit difffent!

Clarria Cosmetics Tinted Primer. Value $22. This primer is surprisingly expensive.  I really am not sure I want to try it in case I like it. Lol

Hey Honey Come Clean: Propolis & Minerals Facial Scrub. Value $5. This is a brand that I really like and I’m excited to try this facial scrub. I typically use acids to exfoliate but sometimes it’s fun to use an actual physical scrub!

This bag has a value of $58 which is fantastic for a $10 bag. I’ve really been impressed with Ipsy since I’ve restartedy subscription!

$5 off coupon! Of course I promptly lost this ☹️. I should have taken a picture. Blah

The bag design is great!  I have a lot of makeup bags and my mom liked this one so I gave it to her.

Tarte Maracuja Oil. .23 floz. Value $6.50. I’ve received this sample before and it’s a nice facial oil. It’s a good starter one if you are new to facial oils too! This is quite a small sample so I would only get a few uses out of this.

Smashbox Eye Palette. Value $5. I like Smashbox and it’s fun to get Eyeshadow samples. This little duo is great with two pretty neutral shades – peach and bronze.

Philosophy Purity Facial Cleanser. Value $6.  I’ve received this many times before and it’s pretty popular.  I’m particular about my facial cleanser and I don’t really like this one.  I’ll give it away.

MAC False Lashes Black Mascara. Value $2 meh. I’ve gotten these samples a lot from MAC and I don’t wear mascara. I usually group and bunch together and sell them.

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel. Value $7. I have received this from Sephora before and I just can’t get the little fibers to look right on me. I can work better with an eyebrow pencil.

Carolina Herrera Good Girl. Value $7. This is the extra item this month but it’s a fairly pricey perfume. I don’t wear perfume so into the gift or sale pile it goes.

This month’s box was not a great one for me. The value is $33.50 so that is great I’m just not thrilled with the samples. I also wish this was at the $10 price point without the coupon. I’ll give this another few months to see if it improves!

July Empties!

I can’t believe how fast the summer is going!  July really got away from me. This month I have a few products that I got rid of as they were getting too old and the rest I used up!

Burts Bees Eye Makeup Remover Pads-  these are my favorite eye makeup remover pads. I recently tried a different type and I hate them. So I will definitely be repurchasing these.

Skyn Iceland Gentle Cleansing Cloths for Eyes. These worked ok but had a scent I didn’t care for. Would not repurchase due to the scent.

L’Occitane Verbena Shower Gel. I got this in the 2016 advent calendar. This is a nice scent and there is really quite a few washes in this.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel   Lush has my favorite shower gels. This one smells like candy and has a little by of glitter in it. Super fun!

Nature’s Gate Coconut Body Wash I got this body wash in an Amazon Prime box.  It smelled very much like coconut!  It worked pretty well but it was hard to get it out of this packet in the shower.

Swirl & Sparkle brush Cleanser. This is my favorite brand of brush cleanser. It works well at cleaning and moisturizing my brushes. These minis are perfect for my smaller brushes!

Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray. This is my favorite hair product ever since I tried it in Birchbox. I always have extra on hand.

Alterna Caviar Anti-aging Infinite Color Hold Shampoo & Conditioner.  I bought a sample set of this as it was a new product I wanted to try. I love the Alterna Caviar moisture line so wanted to try this. I liked this but not as good as the moisture line.  I did love the infinite color hold topcoat styling product which made my hair shiny and soft. I purchased more of that.

Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Style Cream. I’ve tried several things from Living Proof and it just doesn’t work well with my hair. I’ve had this a long time and I figured it was time for it to go.

Jeffree Star Lip Scrub. This is my fav lip scrub. Nice and scrubby and tastes and smells good. I believe this was the mojito flavor. Right now I’m using an orange one which is yummy.

Captain Blankenship Mermaid Sea Salt Spray. I bought this smaller version from Sephora and then got the full size in Popsugar. This is a fanastic Spray for beach waves. It smells great and comes in a pretty blue bottle!  And it works good too. lol

Missha Wrapping Spray Mask Honey.  I got this quite a while ago and it’s not empty but I think it’s time to dispose of. I liked to use it as a body spray!

Mizon AHA 8% Peeling Serum. I used to use this all the time but I’ve switched to Paula’s Choice or Cosrx for my acids.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye.  This is the best Undereye concealer. I got this sample from Ipsy and it lasted forever. I have a full size one now!

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder. My favorite setting powder!  I got this deluxe sample in the Iconics set. I have this loose powder in full size for home and the pressed compact for work. Love it!

Holy Snails Perseids Facial Oil. This was a sample that I got quite a while ago. It didn’t quite work for my face though I love other items from this brand!

First Look – 5 month old small dog

Information Cards

Zippy Paws Pineapple NomNomz. Annie grabbed this toy right out of the box. Of course it was the biggest. Lol. She plays with it all the time. It’s a great size and sturdy enough it should last a long time.

Flavorit Bone Berry Small. Annie does love chewing on bones and this one smells like berry.  She seemed really excited by the smell and has chewed on it quite a bit since we got it.

My Little Wolf Duck. I like that these are small sized which is perfect for my little 6lb pup!

Grizzly Pollock Oil I know this is good for pups but man it’s stinky. Annie still has issues with soft poo so I haven’t tried this yet.

Red Barn Dog Hoof  this was a bit too big for Annie. We gave it away to a bigger dog friend!

Nuts doe Knots Rope Toy.  With a teething puppy in the house I can never have too many rope toys!

Another great box for my growing pup!  Annie approves!

Popsugar Must Have July Unboxing

This post contains referral links

Popsugar Must Have is a monthly box that I classify as a lifestyle box. It has a mix of items from beauty, home, fashion, and more. Generally items are on trend and newer releases. I never keep everything in it but it always makes for nice presents or sells.
Cost: $39.95 per month plus tax

Ocean Tribe by Turkish-T Kilim Towel. Value $49. I’ve received Turkish towels several times in boxes and although nice they are really not my style. I prefer just a normal terry cloth towel!  The pattern is nice and this is a very nice quality.

Ban.do Sip Sip Tumbler. Value $14. I can always use a tumbler. Also since I have a new puppy that likes to drink out of my cups I always have to have a lid on all my drinks so this is perfect. I do wish this was dishwasher safe though.

Supergoop! Super Power Sunscreen Mousse SPF50. Value $19.  I can always use sunscreen and was very excited for a Mousse style one.  Unfortunately this has olive oil in it so I can’t use it on my face.

Tarte Cosmetics Lights, Camera Splashes Waterproof Mascara. Value $23. I like the Tarte brand but I don’t wear mascara. I get a ton of it in sub boxes too.  I sold this one.

Sisters of Los Angeles California Fireplace Matches. Value $10.   These are the really long fireplace matches. I have a gas fireplace and I dont grill or burn candles so I couldn’t really find a use for these. I have them to my parents though and they were happy to have them.

Snyder’s of Hanover Wholey Cheese! Smoked Gouda. Value $3.69. These were actually my favorite item in here. I was happy to see these were gluten free since I have a gluten intolerance. They do hand potato flour in them and they were quite tasty.

This box has a value of about $118 which is a good value. Sadly this box was just not really suited for me. That happens sometimes with Popsugar since it’s a surprise box. I’m sure next month will be better for me!

Love with Food July Tasting Box Unboxing

This post contains referral links

Love with Food is a monthly snack subscription box. It contains a variety of fun snacks that are organic, natural and/or gluten free. There are several difffent plans available. I get the tasting box which is $7.99 a month and gives me at least 7 snacks a month. They also give away a free meal for every box sold which is just fantastic if you ask me!
One thing I wanted to mention is that Love with Food does have a gluten free box for those with sensitivities. I do have a sensitivity and mostly exclude gluten from my diet but I chose to get the Tasting box anyhow. I find most snacks are gluten free and the ones that aren’t I give away.

Let’s see what I got.

First Look

Dick & Jane Baking Company. States & Capitals. Learning and eating go together with these little cookies. I’m sure I could brush up on my state capitals but these are not gluten free so I will give these to my mom.

Nothing But the Fruit Real Fruit Bites in Raspberry Chia & Concord Grape. I’ve had this brand before and it’s not bad. I do really like that we got two flavors to try.    I’ll definitely give these a try.

Teddy Soft Bakes Chocolate Filing. I cannot get the old Teddy Grahams commercial out of my head when I see these.  These look pretty good actually but I gave to my mom since they are full of gluten!  Just wanna eat those Teddy Grahams. 🙂

Cosmos Creations Salted Caramel Puffed Corn. I love caramel corn. These look a bit flatter than normal popcorn as they have no hulls or kernels in them.

Rigoni Di Asiago Fiordifrutta Organic Apricot Spread. This sounds good but since I don’t eat gluten anymore I find I don’t eat jelly anymore. Any gluten free people reading eat jelly or jam?  What do you put it on?

YumEarth Organic Strawberry Smash Lolipop. I’ve had this rand of pop before and lemme tell you they are tart!  I don’t mind tart candy I just was surprised when I first tried this brand.

Ocean’s Halo Coconut Seaweed Strip. Blech. My two least favorite foods Seaweed and coconut. No way am I eating this. Just no.

We also got a mini Rachael Ray mag!

This really wasn’t my favorite box from Love with Food. It wasn’t bad just not enough snacks I’m really excited to try.  Hopefully next month will be more in line with my snacking preferences!

Feel Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sheet Mask. Value $8.75. I tried this mask out already and put a review on my Instagram.  Overall I thought this was a nice mask. It’s a bit pricier than I would like but it is a nice mask.

Wander Beauty Lipstick in Barely There. Value $15. This is lipstick is a bit smaller than full size. The color is just great!  It’s a very pretty light berry color. Definitely buildable and left my lips moisturized too.

Cargo Cosmetics Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali. Value $10. I left this sealed as I’m not sure if I am going to keep. It’s a really pretty dusty pink color but I have several similar brushes. This is a decent size so will last a long time.

beauty for real Lip Revival Sugar Lip Scrub. Value $9. This lips scrub smells really good like orange and vanilla. I love a good lip scrub so will use it for sure!

Briogeo Roscaro Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protection Creme. Value $4.50. This is a brand I’ve received a lot in samples and boxes. Honestly most of the products I’ve tried do not work well for my hair type (frizzy and wavy) so I’m not sure if I will try this one or not.

Burts Bees Complete Nourishment Facial oil. Value $2. I will use Facial oil but not so much in the summer as my skin is quite oily. This looks like a decent one for the price so I may save this to try out this fall or winter.

Redken 07 Fashion Waves Sea Salt Spray. Value $4. I’ve received a lot of sea salt spray lately and I’m glad to have it. I use a ton of this in the summer and this one worked great on my hair.  We got a coupon too so I may just have to grab a full sized version.

This box has a value of about $53 which is great. I continue to be impressed with the quality and variety of items in this box!
